TxHSA Hall of Fame Inductee, Michael Martin Murphey to Perform at The Saxon Pub

On Sunday, March 15th at 3:00 pm, The Saxon Pub presents the Texas Heritage Songwriters’ Association’s 2009 Hall of Fame Inductee, Michael Martin Murphy.

A native Texan, Murphy carved his role in a country movement which launched out of Austin during the early ’70s alongside Michael Nesmith of the Monkees. His career has spanned nearly five decades. This multi-Grammy nominee has acquired six gold albums, including Cowboy Songs, the first album of cowboy music to achieve gold status since Gunfighter Ballads and Trail Songs by Marty Robbins in 1959. He has recorded the hit singles “Wildfire“, “Carolina in the Pines“, “What’s Forever For“, “A Long Line of Love“, “What She Wants“, and “Don’t Count the Rainy Days“. Murphey is also the author of New Mexico‘s state ballad, “The Land of Enchantment”. Come on down to The Saxon Pub and join us in enjoying this Texas music legend.
